Announcements for Sunday 9/5/10
Office Closed: Please note that the church office will be closed tomorrow in observance of Labor Day.
EDS Begins: Please be prayerful for the St. Thomas Episcopal Day School as they begin fall classes this Tuesday, September 7th.
September 11th: On Saturday, September 11th, churches in Rockingham County are gathering for a day of service to our community. Many of the churches in Reidsville are partnering with local schools to do work around their property. If you would like to help out, please call Bill Duke at First Baptist Church (342-4227) to join with other volunteers in our community.
Kick Off Sunday
Next Sunday, September 12th, we return to our usual schedule: services at 8:30 (rite 1) and 11:00 (rite 2) with education for all ages at 9:45. In celebration of beginning a new year together, we’ll have an ice cream social after church. We’ll have all the makings for make-your-own sundaes. If you are willing to help with this event, please contact Alex Melchert or Starr McHugh.
“Sundays with Mark” Our adult education program for the fall will be led by Kevin Smith. Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:45 for an opportunity to study Mark’s gospel as a work of literature. Taking this different approach gives the opportunity to gain new insights and understandings of these very familiar passages.
ECW Chapter Meeting: All ladies are invited to the ECW Chapter Meeting next Tuesday, September 14th at 10:30 am in the Vestry Room.
Facebook: Be sure to sign up to join the new St. Thomas’ Facebook page. Thank you to John Bullock for creating this new site and for all he does with our newsletter and weekly e-news. |

BIRTHDAYS THIS MONTH
|
8/1 |
A Prayer for Birthdays: Watch over thy children, O Lord, as their days increase; bless and guide them wherever they may be. Strengthen them when they stand; comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and in their hearts may thy peace which passeth understanding abide all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP p. 830
