The New Standard Revised Version of the Holy Bible adds a
contemporary view. This recent change speaks to our parish need for continual
renewal and uplift, with respect for the past. In fact, "liturgy",
"theology", "tradition", and "loyalty" are continually seen
as responses to our survey's query regarding choice of this parish.
Worship conducted by our Rector and lay members has led to
joyful experiments in what it means to worship. Our services feature various
Eucharistic Prayers, impromptu invitations for acolytes to read lessons, the open
congregational spoken prayer list, and the introduction of music from the Wonder, Love
and Praise new hymnal supplement (sometimes with hand bells). Music has a deep
and spirit-filled place for many of our congregation.
Our members seek change, though often in favor of the
less, rather than more formal variations. However, the Sermon and the Holy Eucharist
remain, according to the survey, the most important parts of the service.
